Page Content

The body of a book page can contain a wide variety of media, as well as body text. A great way to put together engaging content is to draw material from other websites. This can include video, slideshows, simulations, animations, games and other activities. Virtually anything you can find on the web can be pulled into a Drupal4Ed enhanced book, and linked together with your side-panel commentary and quiz questions.
The simplest type of page content is text you type directly into the Body field. Body text can include html tags, however, you might find that you need to set the Input format to "Full HTML". The default input format is "Filtered HTML", which supports only a very small number of html tags. At this time, Drupal4Ed does not offer a WYSIWYG html editor, due to the general bugginess and low quality of the available editors.
For those who do not know html, but wish to put something other than paragraph text into pages, help is available! There are 5 types of non-text content that can be created simply by taking advantage of one of the Media Types available in the Page Media section of the Book Page editor. Simply check the type of media you wish to include, and then enter the path to the appropriate file in the accompanying textfield. For samples showing how each Media Type is deployed within the Book Page, visit the Drupal Customization book. Be sure to read the page notes for hints about how each type of content was created.
